Mobility issues, disability and NICE guidelines on ventilation

Do the NICE guidelines, including the updates, mean a patient who has say rheumatoid arthritis on immunosuppressants or fibromyalgia with mobility issues be unlikely to receive and/or benefit from ventilation if they score 5 or above on the CFS - I.e. struggle with walking, shopping, heavy housework etc? Would those living in supported accommodation for their disability automatically be considered unsuitable for ventilation?

The guidance remains that there should be consideration on an individual basis not cohorting. Some GP practices are phoning the over 80s to discuss the ceiling of care that would be appropriate for them. Most over 80s would not fare well in an intensive care setting with Covid19 and the speed of deterioration adds to that risk.
There is no automatic rejection of patients for critical care: It is an individual consideration involving the patient, if they have capacity.

It remains the case that there is still ICU capacity across the country. Most units were running at around 85% capacity, yesterday. London slightly higher in a few hospitals.
