Having people come to your house

Obviously we know the NHS guidance on this and the references to it in the law.

What about if you have to have an essential service come to your house? for example you have a power/gas/water failure? your heating breaks down ? anything similar.

YOUR ront door is the portal between the comparative safety of your home and Coronaville outside. Anything or anyone that crosses that door is a threat.

That person is a threat to you and you are a threat to them !

THINK FIRST. Do you really have to have that person come to your house? If you dont,then simply DONT do it. Put it off,rearrange it.

If its absolutely vital that they come in your home then;

a)Ensure that you have a conversation on the doorstep. Exchange details about symptoms or preferably, confirm you both have no symptoms.

b)Ensure that all non essential people remove themselves to a single room where the person will not need to go and shut the door.

c)Keep pets out of the way in the same room

d)Agree at the door that you will both keep your distance

e)Agree that time in the house will be minimised

f)Do not offer refreshments
