Single parent and shopping

Is it true that no supermarket will allow a child in? My friend has no one at all to leave her child with and unless she leaves him at home alone (4) what is she supposed to do? She cannot get an online shop and has only recently moved to the area so doesn’t know anyone to bring shopping in.

What are people in this situation meant to do if this goes on 6 months?!

No its not true! They have to let you shop with a child if you have no one else to look after them.
I went to asda on Saturday and the security man was letting people with babies and young kids hop the queue as it was cold and raining. I had to pop to lidl today with my 18 month old to get bread and baby wipes and there wasn't even a queue or anyone at the door.

It's bollocks. I'm a lone parent and a Tesco employee and I can confirm this isn't policy. I was there with dd this morning and no one batted an eyelid

I’ve been worried about this too as I have 4 under 10 can’t leave them alone

Not true. I've been in Asda and Aldi with DS, no issues.
