AIBU - collecting lamb from farmer

I ordered a large leg of lamb from a farm I usually order from a few weeks ago. But it's about a 30 mile drive partly down an A road. Am I going to get in trouble for that? The alternative is no lamb and the farmer loses money, doubt I'd get it from supermarket but also want to support smaller businesses. I'll obviously do some other food shopping on same trip but it is quite a long way, would police deem it unnecessary and turn me back?

I like farmers and I feel sorry for them :( ... my heart says go, my brain says don't

I know, that's the problem! I'm not sure where the farmer can sell to though, the markets that are closer to me where they usually set up are all closed (I usually drive to her because their farm shop selection is amazing).

It sounds unnecessary to me, but I understand how you feel about the farmer.

Get in touch with the seller, as they might have other people more local who would happily buy it. If not then you can decide with more info.

Would farmer have access to freezer space so you can collect it later?

Tootletum · 30/03/2020 17:55

Yeah. I wanted it for Easter as I make a big leg of lamb for Easter Sunday. It's quite important to me but sounds like it's a lost cause and I'll just be stuck with whatever crap I can get in Tesco's. I'll ask her, she's probably overrun with locals trying to get their hands on something nice anyway.
