I haven't left the house in 2 weeks.

Not even for a walk.

I have really bad anxiety anyways and stay in a lot but not like this. My kids haven't been out either.

We have a large backgardeb that they play in all day, playing fetch with the dog. We have swings and stuff.

I'm just too scared to go out, I feel it's too risky.

Anyone else just stayed in??

We have all been in for the last two weeks as one DC had a cough the week before last.

Today is the last day of our 14 day self isolation. Tomorrow we plan on taking the dog for a long walk, poor thing. I am also going to have to stop by a shop and get some bits, but am very anxious about it.

Knocksomesense · 30/03/2020 10:49

We have been home for nearly 3 weeks now. Have a son with compromised immune system so I don't know when we will leave the house next

I'm so envious. I keep reading threads about people who are basically bored. I have to work. Luckily I"m off 'til Wednesday and I really need a 4 day break, but I would love to be at home, the anxiety would be decimated. I can be careful on my own behalf but when I'm out there on the bus, going to work, I do not know what I will catch.

If you're stuck at home be grateful.

It is so much better than feeling vulnerable and HAVING to go out and have the anxiety I have.

TheYearOfTheDog · 30/03/2020 10:53

It is weird I know that now ''freedom'' is the freedom to stay at home.

Knocksomesense · 30/03/2020 10:58

@theyearofthedog it's a tricky one. We are in massive financial trouble because of being at home. But I appreciate we are lucky we are safe

covetingthepreciousthings · 30/03/2020 11:06

Today it's been a week since I last left the house. I'm now furloughed from work. I haven't had any symptoms so could go for a walk, but I just don't want too. I'm too anxious Sad

Feeling grateful for having a garden now though.

SaigonSaigon · 30/03/2020 11:13

Similar here. I don't feel a walk out is worth the risk of something unknown. Not yet anyway. Most people on my street must feel the same I as hardly see any of them leaving their houses

RoyalBankOfFuckThis · 30/03/2020 12:08

I'm always at home. My mental health doesn't allow me to work. I just feel so trapped even though I could go a week normally without leaving the house

This feels so different. Like there's a threat out there.

It's messing with my head

I keep being told to go for a walk. That it's safe

But I'm genuinely too scared

Kids dad wants to take them for a walk to the fields down the road but I won't let him

I'm the same way Royal but at least I feel safe inside. If rather go hungry than go out right now.

Noideareally2 · 30/03/2020 12:41

*I'd.. Obviously

JustInCaseCakeHappens · 30/03/2020 12:49

My neighbourhood is VERY quiet at the best of times, so I have taken the kids out every day whilst we still could.

If I was staying in central London, I probably wouldn't have.

It's impossible to advise without knowing your exact geographical situation. I do feel that it's very important for my kids to go out, walk and run around a bit. If we couldn't, we would be fine of course, but as long as it's possible it would be crazy not to.

Again, most day we didn't see more than 1 or 2 people on the other side of the road. It doesn't feel any more unsafe that being in the garden as we have neighbours on both sides.

viccat · 30/03/2020 13:04

It's coming up to two weeks for me too, before that I walked to post a letter at the letterbox at the end of my road. I also suffer from anxiety and rarely leave the house for anything non-essential so this is not unusual as such.

I think going out is basically safe as long as you keep your distance from others BUT staying in is safer as you just never know what might happen outdoors/who you might encounter. Confused
