Tend to sit with them infront of the TV for an hour - then feed at table - then try and get out for an hour. At the moment were driving and listening to podcasts which tend to keep their attention - home and draw what they heard.....working for us....afternoons can be more challenging so a movie or facetime family is helping. Considering baking and painting today...potentially with thier friends on Zoom.... wish me luck!

7-9am - chill downstairs with cartoons and breakfast
9-10am - upstairs to get dressed and play in room for a bit
10-11.30 - play doh or bricks or Lego or drawing/painting
11.30-12.30 - out in the garden
12.30 - lunch
1.00 - out for a walk
2.00-5.00 - garden, messing, pottering, bit of TV if getting bored and 'testy'
5pm - tea
6pm - bath
7pm - bed

It's exhausting.

I find just changing rooms to a new environment entertains him - looking out the window in our bedroom, finding toys in his room etc...

Mine are slightly older, but have SN.

We are up at 7.30, dressed have breakfast etc.

After breakfast, a 20 minute tidy up in kitchen/dining room - swap dishwasher, sweep floor etc.

PE with Joe at 9 for 30 minutes.

A short break (for me) while they play by themselves for 10/15 minutes.

We are currently then watching a film each morning (thanks to Disney+)

Next, making lunch - getting everyone involved stretched out the time taken, and helps with independent skills so win-win.

Lunch at 1ish.

Tidy up after lunch takes us to 2pm/just after

We play some board games (easy Orchard toys ones) for half an hour or so.

Out into the garden for a bit - thankfully have some outdoor space, and although garden is small we have swings/trampoline, and can scoot in front drive.

Back inside, and another time for them to play by themselves for 20 minutes or so.

Then time to start cooking tea - again having helpers stretches out the time taken, and we eat about 5.30pm.

After tea is iPad time, then up for bed routine at 7pm.

Obviously there are gaps here and there where we can sometimes fit in crafts or music etc.

We've been experimenting with stimulating activities via other means. A local school trialled this story and the kids apparently drew for ages afterwards. There should be more to come in the coming weeks.

4 and half year old in reception
8:45 has a dance to pharell happy!
8:50 Calendar/weather
9:00 pe with joe
9:30 snack
9:45 free flow play with animals,Lego, toys
10:30 number blocks (bbc)
11:00 reading
11:30 special activity (teddy bear picnic)
12:00 lunch/outside play
1:00 1 hour daily walk
2:00 story time (YouTube going on a bear hunt/gruffalo)
2:15 sing song/home school done
This may seem a lot but he loves reception and is so sad he can’t go and doesn’t understand why he can’t, after 2:30 he can do what he likes iPads, movies etc. We also have a visual timetable so he can see what we will do for the day witch gets him excited and he wears his school uniform so he understands it’s learning time and a weekday then he still has structure, my household falls apart without structure, hope you find a routine for you, sending hugs in this difficult time
