We need to self isolate, don't we?

Yesterday DD1 (8) had a fever.

Late morning her temperature was 37.8. After eating some toast, she said her chest felt 'scratchy'.

Early afternoon, her temperature was 39.2.

By late afternoon, her temperate was back to normal and she's been fine since. Nosebleed in the early hours of the morning.

We obviously haven't been out anyway, but I'm a teacher and (was) due to work next week.

Yes, you need to self isolate for 14 days. I hope she's better soon.

ellesbellesxxx · 29/03/2020 08:56

Yes you do

cliffdiver · 29/03/2020 08:58

Thank you.

She's completely fine... has been since yesterday afternoon. Temperate just spiked for a few hours.

Yep you do. My daughter has just got over a 2 day fever. No other symptoms but we are now at the start of 14 days isolation. I think it may have been it as she never has fevers and there were no other symptoms (cold, ear infection etc).

cliffdiver · 29/03/2020 09:05

@msloverlover is anyone else in your family displaying symptoms yet?

Yes, please do.

Do - we had one child with a cough and zero other symptoms. Seemed like total overkill to all go into 14 days isolation and keep them off school as it preceded lockdown and school closures, but we did. I started coughing the following day and felt unwell and a week later our other child suddenly spiked a fever and was ill for several days. So it can take a while to go through the family - whatever it might be. I figured that even if we had a normal virus, it’s best to keep all and any germs out of circulation right now.

@cliffdiver no. But strangely my oh who works in hospitals and health centres had a weird virus back in February that ended up with him having very low o2 levels in his blood, needing to be taken to hospital in an ambulance and being prescribed steroids and an inhaler despite him never having had any kind of asthma or breathing problems in the past Hmm
