aurynne · 29/03/2020 09:37

36.6, and my DH is 36.4.

FeltCarrot · 29/03/2020 09:40

I have thermometer envy. Been trying to get one for the last couple of weeks.🙁

RandomlyChosenName · 29/03/2020 09:41

Mines generally about 37.2 in the morning (ear) and gets a bit lower as the day goes on. It’s my normal.

Also be careful if you’ve just done something that makes you hot- like having a hot shower- as this can raise your temperature.

kimlo · 29/03/2020 09:41

36.5 which is bang on what it normally is.

When I had flu at the begining of march it was going up to over 39 and I was feeling very rough.

Newjez · 29/03/2020 09:42

My thermometer instructions read as follows. Take your temperature when feeling well and this will provide a baseline. If you take your temperature and it is more than two degrees greater than your baseline, then you have a fever.

All thermometers will be slightly different. You need to grade them when you are well.

Lougle · 29/03/2020 09:43

37.3°c is not a high temperature. It's normal. Normal range is around 36.1°c to 37.2°c. 37.5°c is described as a 'low grade fever' and normally, 38°c is described as a fever. However, for C19 it's 37.8°c.

The fact that paracetamol took your temperature down is not a sign that you have a fever.

rhowton · 29/03/2020 09:46

My usual is 36.5 but I've been 39.5+ for 7 days 😷

MasakaBuzz · 29/03/2020 09:47

I bought a Boots under the tongue one from the bargain bucket a couple of years ago. I am taking my temp about 5 times a day. My normal temp is lower than 37.5. I am more looking at trends. My temp seems higher in the morning, and drops through the day. Using it more for reassurance that I haven’t got a fever.

Gammeldragz · 29/03/2020 09:49

Mine has been up and down to between 37.1 and 37.5 for a week nearly, but I have a slight cold.
Also get different readings in a each ear and from minute to minute (same with our work ones).

Eireni · 29/03/2020 09:55

Lol glad we’re not the only ones checking! DP and I keep shoving the thermometer in each other’s mouths any time the other one clears their throat or something 😂

I’m 35.8 this morning (always been a cold fish) and DP 36.7

When I was poorly with Covid19 symptoms I got into the 39s. My friend’s husband peaked at 40.1!

MargotsLine · 29/03/2020 09:56

My baseline temp is about 35.6 so weirdly low but I know it is. We also did baseline temps for the children when they were little and wrote it in the booklet that came with the thermometer.

Dh also runs in the 35 degree range too. Not just our at home thermometer but hospital ones too for both of us.

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 29/03/2020 10:22

I can only get the head scan one.

AnnieOH1 · 29/03/2020 10:26

Temperatures fluctuate throughout the day, along with different times during menstrual cycles.

I'm taking base line readings for everyone at home too. My current temp is 37.0/37.1 (left and right ear), I've had one "spike" this week at 37.6 but it was an absolute one off and very random!

CrunchyCarrot · 29/03/2020 10:35

35.8 but then I am hypothyroid and I rarely see 36.0!

Mothersday2020 · 29/03/2020 10:48

My dp has just hidden it from me!!

Jbck · 29/03/2020 10:55

I aleays presumed our thermometer read rather low but reading a few of yours maybe not, whole family sit around the 35 mark. I took a few baselines couple of weeks ago, no ones had symptoms but if they did and were a couple of degrees up Id say fever to allow for it maybe being a bit rubbish 😃

Eireni · 29/03/2020 10:58

Lol! Tell her/him they’re no fun Grin

ChippyDucks150 · 29/03/2020 11:03

Just took my morning temp as I have been doing all week. Today was 36.2, the highest I have been was 36.9 but that was unusual for me. I have had a cold for a few days and slept loads yesterday.

I have been medically suspended from work for 12 weeks due to my asthma so I'm on high alert. It doesn't help that I am very anxious Sad

hopsalong · 29/03/2020 11:05

When I was obsessing about my temperature last week I found this helpful. Mine was frequently 37.5-38 orally (on verge of fever according to government guidelines!) but over 38 with ear thermometer.

The following thermometer readings generally indicate a fever:
• Rectal, ear or temporal artery temperature of 100.4 (38 C) or higher
• Oral temperature of 100 F (37.8 C) or higher
• Armpit temperature of 99 F (37.2 C) or higher

And

•	The average normal oral temperature is 98.6°F (37°C).
•	A rectal temperature is 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than an oral temperature.
•	An ear (tympanic) temperature is 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than an oral temperature.
•	An armpit (axillary) temperature is usually 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) lower than an oral temperature.
•	A forehead (temporal) scanner is usually 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) lower than an oral temperature.
tulipsrus · 29/03/2020 11:10

Mine is never under 37. Usually somewhere between 37-37.5.

Isadora2007 · 29/03/2020 11:13

I’ve had that flushed face thing- and chills. But no temperature.

whatalifethisis · 29/03/2020 11:33

For people wanting thermometer....link above is Amazon, I have just ordered and coming tomorrow

MsAwesomeDragon · 29/03/2020 11:36

I'm a steady 37.0, every day. I've been taking my temp every day for about 3 weeks.

Dd2 is a steady 35.8. we thought she had a temperature a couple of weeks ago, but she was 35.8 the whole time.
