I’ve learnt:

That regular, goal driven exercise (c25k) really helps with my anxiety

The joys of Nutella on toast (where have you been all my life?!)

Sequins can be worn any day of the week - today is Sequin Saturday on the OOTD thread

What about you?

Not a lot has changed for us: we both have to work. We always have supported the local village shops as much as the supermarket so have simply shifted our trade from 60:40 to 85:15 - there are just a few things I cannot get locally and have to supermarket for.
What has changed is the silence of a morning. We live close to the M4 and you don't realise how much the background rumble interferes with normal sounds. I love getting up before 7am on a weekday to only hear the birds.
The other upside (if you can call it that) is that we get so many walkers / joggers with headphones on, I can now guarantee to fulfill the challenge of following one for over a mile before they notice I'm driving behind them at least once a day out of 4 trips down our single track road. Kind of spoils the fun really - that look of shock horror there is a CAR 10m behind....I'm personally disappointed they'd rather listen to something LOUD rather than listen to the sounds nature provides. The kids used to keep a tally but it's not quite so much fun now the novelty of scoring a win has worn off.

the imaginative play is still so important to her.

I was like that at her age. How nice she has time to do this now.

It does make me re-think all the scheduled activities for the DC. Ironically, the ones that I value most - piano and violin - we're able to continue with during lockdown as I can play and teach them.

I've learnt I really need to get out more.

My one year old has learned to say "help me please" this week. Made my week at home feel worthwhile.

Loving this thread :)

Lockdown has affirmed that I love being at home with my bf (and dog!) 24/7 - we usually work fairly opposite hours, so I did wonder if we'd struggle, but I'm so happy to be around him as much as I can.

I'm in touch with friends and family more than ever; we're all spread across the UK, but making much more of an effort now with WhatsApp groups and video calls.

I'm lucky to work for a stable and supportive employer so I don't need to worry about my pay.

There's a real sense of collectivism around right now, which makes my heart happy.

I'm happy!

The virus is of concern, but I am hearing lots are having it and getting over it. We need to remember that most people will be okay

That I do absolutely love my DH & DCs and could happily be locked down with them forever. We really are enough for each other.

Also love Joe Wickes PE every day and sets us all up for the day nicely, even though work is massively stressful, I'm grateful to be able to do it from home.

Sohardtochooseausername · 28/03/2020 22:25

I love the extra time with my dd. I love the quiet streets and the birds singing. I love the smell of the air without pollution. I love not having to rush around everywhere.

I want to change how I live so it’s more like this all the time.

Not to waste food. To eat cook things in date order. I was never a weekly shopper, very a much what do we fancy? V. Proud of myself.

The kindness of strangers, the volunteers getting together to help each other, our small town has very quickly set up a support scheme, linked with a small supermarket. Every house (9000 +) has had a leaflet through the door so that people who don’t use social media are not excluded. People are queuing up to volunteer. Food bank is receiving so many donations (mostly financial).

And I have got back into following exercise workouts on line Grin.

divafever99 · 29/03/2020 10:26

Forgot to add I've also learned I need to get a bit fitter! I've enthusiastically joined in with dc doing the Joe wicks workout online for the past 3 days, and now I'm struggling to sit down! Grin

ivfbabymomma1 · 29/03/2020 10:41

My maternity leave was about to end, but now my work has closed and I can't work from home so I'm on the 80% government wage thing so I have extra time with my baby boy!
