Where in earth has this come from? Two work colleagues said this. Supermarket limited to 30 minutes. Reckon boris said it. Now just seen it on Twitter. Where are people getting this from?

They've made it up.

dementedpixie · 27/03/2020 17:26

Its nonsense

ShanghaiDiva · 27/03/2020 17:26

I went to the supermarket today and there was no time limit imposed, but nobody was dawdling. I spent longer in the queue to get in.

fussychica · 27/03/2020 17:27

What? Not heard anything like that. Even in countries with a more stringent lockdown I'm pretty sure there is no time limit although in some you are expected to go to your nearest supermarket to shop.

BillywilliamV · 27/03/2020 17:28

It's about staying away from people, you can pass it on in 2 seconds of you're an arse.

Frenchfancy · 27/03/2020 17:29

We have a time limit of 1 hour for exercise in France. O limit on supermarket though.

coconuttelegraph · 27/03/2020 17:30

What did the colleagues say when you asked them where they got it from? People have all kinds of wrong ideas but luckily it's easy to access the government information online I've found

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 27/03/2020 17:31

Lordy knows where they get this shit from, l'm not surprised at one of them but the other l always thought was quite intelligent. I wondered if l had missed that bit

Why oh why do people just make shit up?

How would we know where your work colleagues got it from? Why don't you ask them?

LittleLittleLittle · 27/03/2020 17:31

@Frenchfancy that makes sense. Generally with the guidelines, rules and then law that has imposed in the UK it tends to follow what other European countries have put in place before us. This is mainly because they are democracies and also because it can be seen whether they work or not.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 27/03/2020 17:32

@coconuttelegraph l didn't bother asking them, they are knobs and would tell me l was wrong if l challenged it

l didn't bother asking them

Baffled now, how do you expect an answer from strangers?

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 27/03/2020 17:38

I was asking if anyone suggest had heard it to confirm if l had missed something. That's what l was expecting, rather than sarcasm, but l forgot this is mumsnet!

It comes from other EU countries' rules.
