‘Underlying health conditions’

This might already have been done to death, can somebody please explain what they mean when they say’ underlying health conditions’? does it include widespread things like obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes or is it constrained to serious conditions like cancer, heart problems etc? If the former, then I think a lot of people, even or especially those who are complacent, should know...

I’m fairly sure it’s the former.

It keen mean anything and everything including asthma and high blood pressure. Things that people don't even know they have sometimes. Do you still know complacent people? If so I'm not sure what more you can do really!

This is clearly Published information.

People at higher risk include those who are over 70, regardless of whether they have a medical condition or not, and people under 70 with any of the following underlying health conditions:
■ chronic (long-term) respiratory diseases, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema or bronchitis
■ chronic heart disease, such as heart failure
■ chronic kidney disease
■ chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis
■ chronic neurological conditions, such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), a learning disability or cerebral palsy
■ diabetes
■ problems with your spleen - for example, sickle cell disease or if you have had your spleen removed
■ a weakened immune system as the result of conditions such as HIV and AIDS, or medicines such as steroid tablets or chemotherapy
■ being seriously overweight (a BMI of 40 or above)
■ those who are pregnant

It’s all of them. Obesity was mentioned in a list of vulnerable/at risk people in reference to when you are allowed out to help others.

My mum’s in denial, obese, no spleen and diabetic. It’s worrying as it covers so many people and many are unaware they have these conditions or they are higher risk.
