Ocado Anytime Smart Pass holders - have you received priority access yet?

Milky77 · 27/03/2020 12:45

Email sent to anytime pass holders (at least) on Thursday

-
We have experienced such extraordinary levels of demand in recent days that despite our best efforts, we simply have not had enough capacity to serve all our customers.
To put it into context, practically every Ocado customer, no matter how infrequently they may have shopped previously, is now looking to place an order every week. At the same time, with families at home, the average size of orders has almost doubled. This means there is an unceasing level of demand several times our current delivery capacity.
We’ve already taken decisive steps to manage this demand, closing our doors to new customers, and limiting customers to one delivery slot every seven days. However, despite these measures, we can see that not all Smart Pass customers have been able to book a delivery.
As an Anytime Smart Pass member, we consider you to be one of our best customers, so we’ve set up a temporary priority queue to enable you to book a delivery slot each week.
How you will get access:
We have divided all paying Anytime Smart Pass members who joined before 2020 into a number of equal-sized, randomised groups. You will be placed in one of these groups.
At spaced intervals, we will give each group access to the priority queue, enabling them to quickly get in and choose a slot for their weekly delivery. We will do this by sending each group an email and text message between the hours of 9am and 5pm, starting tomorrow.
Once you get your email, you’ll have the rest of the day to place and check out your order. Please wait for your message, as you won’t be able to access the priority queue at other times.
Please be aware that there is still high demand for slots, and you may not see full availability for all time slots. But, because we can now prioritise the customers we let on to the website, and each customer can only have one slot, you can be confident that there are enough slots – and groceries – to go around.
Our developers continue to work on a better solution which will allow us to manage this in a simpler way but, for now, this fix at least helps us to prioritise you in the short-term. It makes access fair, and helps to keep traffic to our website at manageable levels, ensuring you the best possible shopping experience in the circumstances.
Please note: our usually all-knowing Customer Service team can’t set-up or change this temporary process, so they won’t be able to tell you which group you are in, or when you will get your email.
Thank you for your continued understanding and patience. We all understand the huge responsibility placed on us, and we are working tirelessly to help feed the nation at this challenging time.
Your Ocado team

Will be v glad to have a slot confirmed. I would have cancelled my Ocado subscription otherwise. As a customer who orders weekly and should also be screened, I was getting quite concerned what the next few months would be like.

Anyone had their priority access yet?

Am an anytime smartpass holder - pay a yearly amount, think it’s about £80, I got the email over a week ago, have been offered a slot every 7 days -(am only getting them every two weeks as don’t need one every week) - am in Zone 2 London.

I saw from Twitter they have said they are releasing some slots at 9pm every night, if that helps anyone!

I can also log in at really odd time’s. - sometimes it says I have access sometimes I don’t! So keep trying! - I’ve also hear clearing your cookies can help too.

happilybemused · 05/04/2020 18:15

I can't understand the e mail at all clearly a bit thick Grin

I'm a priority customer with a slot every 7 days. I've got one booked tomorrow and then absolutely no available slots locally for the rest of April.

Can anyone explain to me in simple terms how this works.

Completely baffled

Milky77 · 05/04/2020 18:29

I've emailed Waitrose to see if I can be on their priority list. Sent my NHS England letter. Have an account with them already

Just got a slot with Morrisons though. Queue moves much faster than Ocados if you aren't priority

"As there will need to be a gap of 10 days between deliveries, you won’t be able to see available slots 9 days either side of any slots you have booked.

We invite you to start checking for your available slots from Saturday onwards. You will be able to see slot availability 7 days ahead of time."

These two things are like some maths problem...
So my current order is booked for the 9th - that means the earliest I can get a delivery again is the 20th. When can I expect to see more slots available?

Milky77 · 05/04/2020 19:02

In theory around the 13th @viccat

As someone who past worked in customer communications and had to spend many a day on a plain English course I'd like to think going forward Ocardo could do the same.

Absolutely no clarity for anyone.

Milky77 · 05/04/2020 19:15

Can someone who also is allowed to book every 10 days log into Ocado? I want to know if your holding page in the queue says you can book every 7 days.

viccat · 05/04/2020 19:18

happilybemused Yes, completely agree - I work in CX too and can't understand how a company that must have top CX and comms people working for them is struggling to communicate with their customers so badly!

Milky77 currently the website is letting me get on there with no queue at all, possibly because I have an upcoming order?

Lelivre · 05/04/2020 19:31

Smart pass anytime holder. No email. Had a delivery yesterday which I got after queueing at 4:45 am one Saturday morning. After this delivery yesterday later in the day, I tried the site and just a one minute queue. I saw just one delivery day showing with slots in April everything else blanked out, but I was able to book it, in two weeks time.

Milky77 · 05/04/2020 19:46

Thanks for trying viccat.

Oh my goodness I actually got in (I am a smart pass new customer) I could then have had any slot tomorrow from 3pm onwards. Sadly I couldn't go further than the 3 days, and nothing Tues or Weds, but it seems very random.

Bouncingbomb · 05/04/2020 20:13

I had the sane experience as you TheGreatWave but then I tried again the next day and there was a slot a week later.

In the meantime I got a slot with Tesco on the 21st.

I will probably go back to Waitrose after all this. I don’t think Ocado has handled this very well, as a pass holder on the vulnerable list I think it has been poor.

Aurorie11 · 05/04/2020 20:15

I've allegedly got access from Tuesday, but didn't want to rely and leapt on a Sainsbury's click and collect for Friday

GiantKitten · 05/04/2020 20:24

@Milky77
I’m a 7-day order person, just opened website & get this.
As I have an order due Fri 10th I’ve no idea when they might let me book another - on Sat 11th? Confused

Ocado Anytime Smart Pass holders - have you received priority access yet?
FurForksSake · 05/04/2020 20:38

I have had no emails or texts after the 26th march email telling me how loyal I am.

I did have priority access on Tuesday (I've been trying randomly) but not showing any slots. I have one slot on 11th going to my dad, wondering if after that I will be able to book anything.

We've started using local wholesalers instead as it is such a shambles. My husband and I are both vulnerable and ocado told me they'd put me on a list... I think they put me on the fuck off list.

awayfromhome · 05/04/2020 20:59

I can’t get onto the website at all now.. just get a red screen and error code telling me to call the number they won’t pick up..

Ontheboardwalk · 05/04/2020 21:06

I got my most loyal mail from Ocado on Friday. Luckily saw the mail straight away and went into the site immediately. There were loads of slots available.

Managed to get a delivery next Saturday and the Saturday after. Went to add stuff (after my panic shopping of JD to secure the slots) about 2 hours later and there was nothing. I was back to the 3 day view with nothing available

Been with Ocado about 5 years. Had break in anytime pass to get cheaper price so classed as new Pass customer from March 20.

I buy JD, cat food, litter and most household goods from them so prob spend £150 per week

Hope people manage to get delivery slots. The fact the are stopping selling bottled water and other bulky goods along with the limited deliveries might help things going forward?

Alyic · 05/04/2020 21:20

I got my text early last week, eventually got on and no delivery slots until 24th April, so much for 'priority'. My last delivery was 28th March, so 4 weeks with no delivery.

Had a email a few days ago, saying I can have a delivery every 7 days, which I did prior to this nightmare. Heard nothing since.

Milky77 · 05/04/2020 21:22

@giantkitten thank you. I'm only supposed to be allowed a slot every 10 days according to the email but the landing page says seven. Trying to understand if it's just another cock up

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 05/04/2020 21:35

I am on the NHS extremely vulnerable list and I am pretty impressed by the almost all the supermarkets accept Ocado who week to have been the most overwhelmed. All a bit surprising as they are after all a dedicated online business and don't have the additional work of running a retail store.

I received my NHS text 2 weeks ago, a letter 2 days later, a government food parcel this week and today, priority access for Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda. (I will only be using one per week though)

Milky77 · 06/04/2020 08:57

Would recommend those who genuinely can't go to the shops try Morrisons. Their site is more stable and they are opening up slots as and when they can.

OP posts:
Piggywaspushed · 06/04/2020 09:52

Hmmm... last time I went to the Morrisons site there were 21378 people in front of me in the queue.

KenAdams · 06/04/2020 10:08

Never got a slot email as an Anytime customer and nothing available to see even if I click on the calendar.

poppym12 · 06/04/2020 10:40

My email from ocado is confusing. Apparently I can book a delivery every 10 days (I have the last of my pre-booked ones due on Friday). Does this imply that after this delivery I will be able to book a slot for 10 days from Friday?
