Agoraphobia

I have previously suffered with agoraphobia. I haven’t left the house for over a week.

I am very panicky at the thought of leaving the house - no bread or milk so do need to.

I clapped for the nhs in back garden last night panicked how many people would be on the street
Not sure why I am posting . Hoping for some tips to get through this and out the door

Can you set yourself a small challenge. Walk to the end of the road and back. Perhaps distract yourself by looking for rainbow pictures. In theory, there’s fewer people on the streets at the moment.

Starlight I posted on a thread yesterday that I thought I'd get agoraphobia. I had to go out today to get food, couldn't get a delivery but I have got a Morrisons box coming next week.

After a week inside I actually felt really good to be out. I went to Asda and the queue was well spaced out, it isn't a particularly big branch but they had 3 security guys on the doors and it was one in one out, don't know how many they aim to have in there but it wasn't many.

I actually feel much better about it now I have been out. Hope you feel the same.

People in the queue were friendly and joking across the 2m gaps. A lot of elderly people who probably haven't seen anyone in days. It felt positive.

I too have suffered with agoraphobia. Had an episode last week but I was able to talk myself through it. So basically what you would do is acknowledge that you are panicking, continue to walk slowly, telling yourself it’s just anxiety not a heart attack and keep doing this. Cheer yourself on. Rinse and repeat. 💐

I have done it . Went in the car. Had a cry in the car, went in Tesco express . Wanted to run but didn’t ( I have a child to feed) cried . Saw a neighbor and cried at her in the distance.

I think I am going to have to actually get out every day even big it’s a short walk . Hopefully won’t need to go to the shops for another week.
