Delivering food parcels to socially isolating citizens

Can anyone advise how best to do this safely to people living in apartment blocks?
My view is that the volunteer should go into the block and to the door of the individual apartment. Leave the box outside the door.
They would probably be delivering several boxes to individual doors, but that would be better than leaving several boxes in the main entrance for isolating individuals to come out of their apartments to collect.
The delivery person could clean the door handle of the main entrance and the buttons in the lift.
I can't find any official guidance on this.
Can anybody find any problems with this?
I am trying to organise this for a particular community.
TIA

Volunteer wears gloves and mask if possible. Or washes hands before and after going into the building.

Drops parcels on the doorstep of each individual flat.

Do leave them in the lobby. If people are isolating they won't be able to come and get them.

Thank you. That sounds workable.
I agree that individuals shouldn' t come out of their apartments into communal areas.

I am one of the vulnerable people. Yes please do leave the parcels on the individual doorsteps. My medication was delivered to the front entrance of the flat and I had to expose myself to the communal areas to pick it up.
Thank you for what you are doing.

I can't physically do anything myself, but I have been asked for my advice. It is just good to run it by others to make sure I am correct in my thought processes.
Most things are logical, but it is good to get other opinions.
I am hoping that we can assign one volunteer consistently to one building or street.
I just need to work out the numbers.

please don''t advise wearing masks. This is why they hospitals are struggling to get hold of any. For what you are describing they aren't necessary. And have a look at what WHO say about gloves as well.
