Pregnant and a keyworker

Hi all,

I am pregnant and a key worker (work in a supermarket call centre). I am currenty self isolating as my daughter has had a cough but I am due to go back to work next week.

The government guidelines are saying to self isolate for 12 weeks if you are pregnant and have a heart condition which i dont. My work dont know that I am pregnant as I am not yet 3 months. Do
I tell them or keep quiet and go providing i keep my distance from people?
I am really nervous to go but i know they wont give me the time off as i am not classed as extremely vunerable.

Thanks

Have they changed it then?
Originally I thought just if you were pregnant they had said you were in an at risk group (different to the smaller group of “extremely vulnerable” they are writing to)

I also thought they said that the (unknown and likely small increased) risk was more for people in the 3rd trimester.

But yes, a tricky decision.
Check the advice but if your work will allow you to stay off and be paid or put on furlough so you’d get 80% then it sounds like that would be better

I work for NHS and I think (but don't quote me on this) that if you are pregnant you can still work but you need to ensure that your workplace enforces proper social distancing methods. Mine is office based and I know the pregnant staff are either allocated rooms on their own or well away from others...

Thanks, They are saying you are vunerable if pregnant and to avoid contact and to work from home if you can which unfortunately i cant do this :(
They are sending letters out i think to the extremely vunerable to stay home for 12 weeks.

I will speak to work but i am confident i will still have to go as the guidelines are saying you can still go if you cant work from home!
