Can family leave groceries on my doorstep?

I have a couple of food issues and am having trouble getting hold of my staples, think lactose free products and free from ranges. If my family can get some on their grocery orders or in shops, is it OK for them to drive to my house and leave them on the doorstep?

I'm pregnant and trying to avoid traipsing to shops regularly, especially as I'm not having any joy. I'm not socially isolating and nor are my family, just following the standard guidelines re work from home, exercise once per day. Do you think my family would get into trouble for it, or is this OK once in a blue moon?

As a pregnant woman I believe you do count as vulnerable so bringing you food would be ok.

If you mean your family aren't self isolating then yes I think this is fine. A family member has done this for me as we are currently self isolating. They just left some bags of shopping at my door and I brought them in when they had left.

Yes, I think that's fine.
I think that picking things up for others at the shops is helpful if it reduces the number of visits people need to make overall. Unless they are making a several hour round trip in order to drop it off.

Yes

I do this for my nan and parents who are all self isolating. I leave stuff on the doorstep then retreat to the bottom of the garden, have a little chat then leave. I am at least 4m away from them at all times and only go out to do the shopping in one trip - mine and theirs.

Yes it’s fine, leaving your home in order to care for others is Ok so they’re absolutely allowed to help you out, don’t worry

Pregnancy is classed as vulnerable so it’s fine. Just make sure they put it down, step 2m back and phone you so you know it’s there! It may get pinched!!

yes ill be doing this for my mum when she needs supplies

CaptainMyCaptain · 26/03/2020 19:32

Yes I'm doing that for my daughter as she is high risk.

ThePluckOfTheCoward · 26/03/2020 19:33

Of course it will be fine.

Staywithmemyblood · 26/03/2020 19:35

Yes, I've done this for my MIL

Glittercandle · 26/03/2020 19:36

I’ll be doing this for my mum on Saturday- she can’t go out and it would be impossible to find a delivery slot for her so easier for me to do it all in one go and deliver to her.

CodenameVillanelle · 26/03/2020 19:36

Yes of course
Grocery shopping is essential even if it's for someone else. People self isolating need others to bring them groceries!

Thanks all Smile
