Axillary temperature?

Toddler feels warm to touch, I've taken his temperature with a digital thermometer under his arm. The temperature is 36.7, there is conflicting advice on google about whether you need to add a degree to the the temperature because it was taken under the arm, does anybody know if this is correct? I'm still working (not key worker but employer says we can't work from home).
He seems a bit quiet and was in childcare until last Friday. No cough.

Depends whether thermometer is calibrated for mouth or under arm. Do you still have the instruction leaflet with it?
Can you not take under the tongue?

Otherwise, google the brand/make/model and instructions.

Thanks, I don't have instructions anymore. Currently using this as the tommee tippee has ran out of batteries, it's a molto flexible tip thermometer but I can't seem to find any instructions online.
Does anybody have this thermometer and still have the instructions?

If you feel fine and not feverish yourself, take your own temperature under the arm and compare. Otherwise, can you clean the tip (alcohol gel or soap/water) and use under the tongue.

I have no idea about your thermometer, so may be completely unhelpful and wrong, but my axillary temperature seems to vary between 35.5 and 36.0/36.1 at most.
I felt feverish a few weeks ago, and the thermometer said 36.6-36.8.
(And I'm not sure what children's temperature ranges are compared to adults either).

I cleaned it and put it in his mouth, he didn't keep it under his tongue and opened his mouth a couple of times and it was 37.
So, not a fever? His hands and feet feel normal temperature, his head chest and back feel hot, he's quiet but no cough or crying or stuck to me like glue which is the normal if he is sick.
