DH is a critical worker who absolutely must go out to work. Working from home is impossible.

I’m a relatively senior NHS Manager. 90% of what I’m doing is Covid-19 related at the moment but I can mostly work from home at present (albeit that I may be called upon to do all sorts of other things at a later date that would require travel).

I’m on leave this week. When I go back to work next week, I’ll need to work mostly in office hours (i.e. when DH is out at work) but obviously want to continue to heed the govt advice not to send my 4 and 2 year olds into school/nursery unless absolutely vital. The school and nursery know of my situation and have offered places, which I’ve said I will only use if necessary. I’m continuing to pay nursery fees in case I need to travel to work.

So, I’m currently feeling horrendously sick and rather guilty at the prospect of trying to keep up with my NHS work and stop my children from killing themselves/ each other while also giving them something useful/ educational to do.

Today, just while I was going to the toilet, my littlest took the opportunity to climb the furniture with her space hopper, with the intention of bouncing off. Space hopper has been confiscated, but goodness knows what else she’ll think up!

Anyone else in the same situation? How are you managing? Any tips?

Thoughts to all, whatever your circumstances are at this awful time.
