Giving DH a lift

I've wanted to avoid asking the stupid question, but haven't seen this addressed anywhere else. DH is a key worker but doesn't drive. I'm working from home now and avoiding going out at all. Can I give him lifts to work and home if I stay in the car? In theory it makes sense to avoid him going on public transport, but I'm sure most of the CFs flouting the rules also think their theories make sense.

What are people's thoughts?

Drove him.

Or drive, even.

Thank you, I feel like I'm second guessing everything at the moment Blush

If you drive, there’s a small risk of exposure to other people if you were to break down, or have an accident. And you will presumably need to touch a petrol pump at some point too.

If he takes public transport there is a much bigger risk of exposure to other people, it’s pretty much a certainty unless he manages to get on an empty train. And will presumably be touching surfaces too.

I would go for the much smaller risk and drive him.

We all are. But weighing the risks is important. It’s not as though you’re planning to use the opportunity to nip to the shop and have a coffee at a friend’s house.

He’s a key worker and there is far less risk to the public if he gets a lift in and out rather than take public transport. For him as well as the public.
