I read an article yesterday about a 30+ year old nurse who had the virus killed herself out of fear of spreading it and having possibly already spread it to others. Also have just read an article about a 20+ year old nurse who killed herself at Kings College hospital.

Absolutely heartbreaking. I wonder if people working on the front line have any access to counselling or something similar :(

I have a family member who works as a nurse in the Midlands. She’s been sleeping in the hospital and not seen her son for over a week. She’s at breaking point and it’s not even got to the peak yet. I can see how this could happen.

RIP wonderful nurses - they should get a hero’s funeral

This is so sad. I was thinking about this the other day I really do hope they all have support

This is so unbearably sad.

Suicide is quite high in this profession anyway, they do have access to counselling, wellbeing programmes (although they may be taking a back seat now) and EAPs.

It is desperately sad news, but is not something "new" sadly.

Thinking of their families.

Saying that, I do not know if Agency nurses have access to the EAPs.
