A thread of small positives from self isolation!

Anyone care to join in? Number 1: I am not wanting to kill my teenagers (after a week!), due to their natural tendency to self isolate in their rooms at all times anyway!

My 17 year old is getting much healthier.

He was getting cheap takeaways and eating shit with friends at college everyday.

For the last two weeks at home he’s been eating only my freshly cooked food and my rationed portions. He’s visibly lost weight (he was getting chubby from all the shit), looks healthier and has said he’s feeling better in himself.

The sun is shining and I’ve been able to sit in the garden with a book and really enjoy it rather than being stuck indoors at a desk all day.

DH is off too and we’ve had lots of quality time together, probably the most we’ve had since our summer holiday last year.

I’m 6 months pg so was starting to struggle a bit with getting to and from work (don’t drive so was cycling or catching the bus). It doesn’t look like I’ll be returning before I would have been going on mat leave so trying to see this as a little bonus extension to that.

It’s made me realise what a brilliant family and friends I have and I’ve had phone chats this week with several friends I hadn’t seen in a few years.

Lovely thread, thanks OP.

My husband has is now working from home after living away mid-week for a long time. It's nice to have him here. My ds growing up and I'm going to appreciate all this time I have with him. He'll soon be more interested in friends and going out.

I'm getting more exercise doing Joe Wickes and also enjoy a lovely breach walk in the mornings before breakfast, when there's nobody around.

I'm enjoying watching educational things on YouTube and learning with my ds.

I'm trying online Yoga and facials and feeling better for it.

Eating less and cooking 'interesting' did from scratch. Drinking more though!

I plan on learning to play guitar and finally sorting out the garden.

I'm appreciating what I have, more than ever before and realise how much money we waste.

My back yard is looking lovely now and the oven may get cleaned later this week.

The dog is thrilled, the house is tidier and I’ve been using all my posh bath stuff I’ve been ‘saving for when I really need it’ the only downside is I’m running low on wine now!

You're all reminding me of so many other positive things! DH normally travels up to two weeks a month - he hasn't been away for nearly two months. Not sure how I forgot that one!

It's a beautiful day, and light for so much longer now - I think it would be much harder to deal with if it was dark and dismal weather.

I can leave the windows open more - traffic fumes are much less and I can hear the birds singing.

I would agree. Our frantic pace of life was unsustainable. I didn’t know how to stop. Now there is nowhere to go I can sit in peace.

I have enjoyed schooling the children. We are sorting the house out. The dogs are happier as never alone. Kids playing well

I'm currently lying on the grass in my back garden while DP gardens and DS naps in his pram. We just had a picnic on the lawn. I've spoken to friends and family more than I ever do normally. For today, all is good.
