Is that the point but only so many at a time or at least to try to to a control on numbers. Every time I go out and I've been out once in 5 days although was working before that I worry that I've infected my myself. I'm sat here panicking about whether I will be the one in I U or one of my family members when it's peaks. I have to go shopping again in a few days for a loved one but my anxiety is so high, however I will have to go so they don't put themselves at risk.

I hope not! For some the outcome will never be good even if the NHS is not stretched.

I hope my parents and in laws never get it.

I am concerned about DH getting it as he has Hypertension.

I am not particularly worried about me or kids getting it.

Well not everyone, but most people.

The restrictions are about staggering the spread so that the NHS isn't overwhelmed more than actually preventing people from getting it (which isn't possible without a vaccine)

Hannah021 · 24/03/2020 23:23

No, not even most ppl if it is contained through well behaviour and compliance with rules. But the rule breakers dont give a f*

PumpkinP · 24/03/2020 23:27

Well according to another thread 80% of us will get it Confused

And also there's more chance of there being treatments to help people with it later rather than earlier.m

AnyFucker · 24/03/2020 23:31

About 4/5 of us have had it or will get it

Haven't you been listening ?

okiedokieme · 24/03/2020 23:39

Herd immunity requires about 80% to catch it. We just need to protect the most vulnerable and ensure the numbers of people who get sicker don't exceed medical capacity thus flatten the curve. A vaccine (the alternative to catching it) is a year away, minimum though a short acting immunity serum could be closer according to exh whose involved in research, they have the concept and the technology to produce it but needs to be tested as it's based on mers and needs altering

Yes I have been watching the news which is probably the reason for my anxiety. I'm doing everything I possibly can to avoid getting it but even then worry I might have caught every time I step out. Its just that sense of doom, and not knowing if I've already even had it, if I or my family will be OK if I do. I wasn't particularly worried for ourselves unselves until seeing fit, young and healthy people struggling and seriously ill.
