Tips on keeping safe when DH is exposed to virus

Hi, both my husband and I work in healthcare , but he is front facing and currently working extremely hard under extreme circumstances like a lot of workers during this mad time. I am pregnant and have an underlying health condition so want to be extra cautious on how to try and stay safe when he’s exposed to the virus ? He’s obviously wearing PPE etc but has anyone got any tips for keeping the house a virus free zone ? Any products you advise , or a routine we can follow ? He’s currently coming through the back door, getting his clothes straight into the wash, then straight to the shower but it’ll only get worse from today he’s been warned .
Help!

We are both frontline and have been given endless plastic bags at work to put uniforms in before leaving the hospital, I keep my work shoes in a bag in the boot of car, I disinfect phone and everything before leaving work, I then get home, shower straight away, chuck everything on a hot wash, and disinfect surfaces after, then wash hands again. I've also decluttered the house so it's all clear surfaces and much easier to wipe everything down and not as many hiding places for dirt. We are both vulnerable and have young children in the house so it's not something we are taking lightly, good luck!

Thanks everyone for advice on washing our clothes. I've cleared all surfaces in the utility room and added in a plastic box.
Flowers to you all whether you're frontline or living with someone who is

I was given advice that we should wash clothes at 60 degrees rather than the normal 40 degrees.

Re putting bag in a plastic box...can the virus particles get off an item and move about? Hadn't thought of this.

GaaaaarlicBread · 26/03/2020 07:49

@Inkpaperstars no I think they stay where they are so just ensure you wash it down with Dettol (people recommend the spray but I can’t find it ANYWHERE !!)

Also cleaning taps, tv zappers, fridge and cupboard handles, phones, ipads, bannisters, etc.

This might sound really stupid, but what is the best thing to clean these type of items with??
