Tests ordered so we can go back to work

So Hancock says government has brought 3.5m antibody tests so more people can see if they e already had it/ are immune and can return to work.

I’m worried if I took one and it says I’ve already had it (which I think I MIGHT have 4 weeks ago) then we are under duty to inform our employers and they will expect us to return to work?
I’m Not a key worker I work in an office. I can WFH and am doing so, along with 99% of my company right now. However I have a 3 year old and 6 year old that I need to look after/ try and educate during this!
Does anyone have any thoughts - will all companies expect us all go back into work if we can- despite having kids at home to look after? My DH is also WFH and helping with kids in between meetings, but his job is by far the highest earning out of ours so to expect him to carry more of the chid care etc just wouldn’t be realistic.

You need to test your kids too and if they also have had it they would be back in school.

We don't know how long any immunity lasts for so it doesn't really help that much.
We don't know if the antibodies will be effective against small or large mutations of the virus.

Anti bodies testing is crucial for data but i don't believe it will be a health indicator.

I can't help feeling like these kits must have fallen off the back of a lorry, or they found them in Trago Mills.

Why is the rest of the world not using them?

BBCONEANDTWO · 24/03/2020 17:27

Won't they probably test NHS staff first?

TheMemoryLingers · 24/03/2020 17:28

3.5m won't go far amongst the entire UK population. NHS will surely be the first priority and after that I imagine other key workers who can't WFH will be next.

If you can WFH it's not a priority for you to know whether you are immune as you can self-isolate without having to stop working. So I can't imagine you will be any where near the top of the list to be tested.

I know, pretty concerning! Also if only 3.5 million these are surely for NHS/ medical staff/ key workers and their families first, as should be.
