Should this contact happen?

Residents parent is high risk, so isolating for 12 weeks, NRP has a partner who is a key worker, so possible infection route from partner to kids to RP.

To complicate matters further, handovers have all previously been through 3rd parties, which obviously can't happen in lockdown, and public venues are a no go for RP. So logically it could be difficult anyway.

The kids are quite young, and currently have a good relationship with NRP, which could be lost if they don't have contact for 3 months. However RP feels the risk is to high in the current situation.

I don't think the contact should happen. It's non-essential, there are vulnerable people and key workers involved, and it sounds logistically difficult anyway. I think it's worth waiting it out.

The Government have said contact should go ahead... but this sounds difficult. I'd try and make it happen if the NRP is likely to cause trouble if it doesn't.

If children stay with RP, they too would have to self isolate for 12 weeks to keep RP safe. Is that feasible?

ForeverBubblegum · 24/03/2020 18:38

soontobe60 that is feasible, and what the RP would prefer. The NTP is likely to be unhappy about going that long without contact though.

The contact is no court ordered, but the RP is concerned that if they do not allow contact, the NRP may take it to court, and claim it was parental alienation.
