Beautiful sunny day here, just outside Worcester.

Same forecast for tomorrow.

And Thursday.

And Friday.

If ever there was a time it was going to be hard to stay indoors, it's this week.

I'm guessing you don't have a garden OP. Or maybe you do but you'd just rather be at the beach. I feel the same, but I'm personally very grateful for the weather being nice. Our garden is tiny, but sitting outside in the sun hearing my neighbours potter about makes everything feel more normal. My kids can burn off steam on their play equipment. If it was rainy and we were stuck in the house I'd truly be losing my mind.

ClashCityRocker · 24/03/2020 16:31

Especially after three weeks of storms and floods...

thatgingergirl · 24/03/2020 16:37

I'd rather be looking out of the window at sunshine and blue skies than rain pissing down.

maleficent53 · 24/03/2020 16:39

But you can be outside in a garden. Or even go for a walk or run as long as you keep a distance from people.I am glad the sun is out it feels more positive

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 24/03/2020 16:43

We're in Worcester too, it's been glorious. Unfortunately our garden is nothing but a raised section of uneven slabs and jaggedy brick wall onto more slabs. We have a grouchy and tired but refuses to nap 2 year old, who is clearly bored but no chance I'm letting her out there with just me. DH can't help as he's WFH and under pressure there so I've gone from WFH desk job to stuck indoors full time mummy to someone who currently tantrums at everything I do or suggest that isn't baby shark or hey duggee, then cramming work into the evenings. Send wine!! Wine

SerendipityJane · 24/03/2020 16:44

All good points, and I am enjoying my garden, thanks. (Not a beach person, really).

Just noted that trying to persuade people to stay indoors is a hundred times harder when it's like this.

Pleased so many people can take it so philosophically.

Op. You’re right. It’s bloody ironic. In our rainy climate.

I knew exactly what you meant. I’d observed the same!

FATEdestiny · 24/03/2020 16:48

My children taking advantage of the great weather and not being at school.

Hose pipe out in March! Shock

Also just outside worcester. Very surreal. Gardening in the sunshine. Very peaceful. Birds singing away. Then you suddenly remember what's going on.

Also slap bang in the middle of Worcester and enjoying the garden when I can tear myself away from working in the home office. It beats looking at a miserable day and gives DH new places to take DD ie top of the garden, front of the garden to give her variety.

Sh05 · 24/03/2020 16:54

Yes we've had really wet weather for weeks now but since yesterday the sun is shining and the next 2 weeks are going to be the same. We are all fine with staying in but my 4 yr old just doesn't understand why we can't go the the park. She's been making do with the narrow back yard and I will let her play in the back street if she gets really antsy

QuimJongUn · 24/03/2020 16:56

It's grey and overcast here (NE) which only added to the flat, grey, surreal feel when I had to go out for food earlier. It's been beautiful for the last few days though.

Thank goodness it's not pouring rain every day as it was a few weeks ago. Imagine having to deal with the flooding along with all of this. You can't social distance when you're escaping your flooded home, or rescuing people from them.

Lunafortheloveogod · 24/03/2020 17:04

It’s grey up here too (Scotland) it hasn’t stopped the twats who need it spelled out or in neon lights.

It’s a shame it’s not snowing, half a cm of dusty snow and suddenly everyone’s battened down the hatches like it’s the end of times... I wonder if they could pipe some in somehow...

Utterlybutterly8 · 24/03/2020 17:07

Personally I'm glad the weather is fine. I'm not sure I could cope if all this was happening and we were having dreadful weather and floods as we did in February.

Tulipvase · 24/03/2020 17:11

It’s potentially going to turn colder at the end of this week. Might be good for keeping people inside.

I’m glad of the sun as it has at least dried up the mud bath that is my walk to work!

SerendipityJane · 24/03/2020 17:24

Someone needs to tell God they can lay off the usual "nice week/shit weekend" cycle for now. It won't be noticed ....
