Online retailers?

Which online retailers will still be running? The majority of them or just the food shops? Thanks

I think most of them, I work in non-essential ecommerce and I'm WFH (head office). Our warehouses are still going, just with extra precautions for staff. People would go mad not being able to order books, games, beauty products, and other small luxuries.

All still functioning at present. I had an offer from AO.com this morning and expecting some others in the week.

Most are - smaller ones possibly with skeleton staff so there may be slight delays.

I work for an online retailer (not food) and our warehouse team at the moment is two people who live together anyway and they are driving to work, and a courier picks up orders from the door. The rest of our team works remotely most of the time so we are continuing.

Please try to support smaller retailers if you can - if we have to close, the business might not survive at all.

That means support staff are being expected to go work in call centres just in case your precious delivery of make-up and cushions doesn't arrive next day. Please think before you post about what to order. Not all employers are facilitating working from home.

I think they will have to keep online shopping available with so many people staying at home.

I feel sorry for the delivery drivers who are coming into contact with loads of people every day.

I was thinking for school/office supplies and small items for household repairs, and depending how long this goes on for books, activities, and clothes for rapidly growing kids to wear if they go up a size. Also things like reusable nappies and things for new babies. Obviously food and medicines are the priory but some things become quite essential depending how long this goes on.

I’ve not seen anyone closing - most seem to be continuing with a longer delivery time. I’ve heard of amazon stopping ‘non essential’ deliveries abroad - so beat to think about what to need to order in sooner rather than later.

@NomDePrune I can't speak for all online retailers but mine (large company, don't want to name) have moved all Customer Services to their homes. They're email only for now, but setting them all up with phone kit by next week.

Mine (large high st & online, stores closed Monday) has only just sorted out working from home and distancing at work. Apparently we are key workers.
