Still confused about who can travel to work

I am still confused about whether non keyworkers can go to work if they can't do their job from home. I am a keyworker but my husband is going to his office as he can't do his work from home. There are only two of them there everyone else is home. Has the government clarified since yesterday's announcement whether only keyworkers must be going out to work or not?

Yes, until the government say so if you can't do your work from home you can travel to work.

There's gonna be a fuckton more economic collapse if people are prevented from working if they cannot WFH.

That's why they won't say this unless things get desperate.

Ok thanks Clouds. He is said the others can't work from home in his office unless he and his colleague are there and they can't work from home. They are sitting apart from each other.

Shouldn't all non essential businesses closed? With only essential businesses left open? So I would think that all people in essential businesses are currently classed as keyworkers ie healthcare staff, food retail staff, transport staff etc.

Mlou32 well Boris Johnson wasn't clear yesterday and many are still confused. Some companies still want their workers in if they can't work from home.

Husband (teacher) was adamant that he couldn't take the tube today and insisted on walking in to school (admittedly only two, short, stops). I was sure he's okay to? Key worker, surely?

My husband cycles to work along very rural roads so it isn't the travel per se I am worried about.i don't know if the government meant he should be on work or not.

I think the advice needs clarification but for now, anyone who fancies carrying on their business as usual is able to do so, so long as not already on the banned list (non food shops etc)

I believe we need far more draconian measures as I have heard from people whose factories are not closed, so they have used public transport to get there and are then working very close to each other all day, back on the bus/tube/train.

It's yet another half hearted measure from a Tory government which values money over lives.
