When is the panic buying going to stop?

I went to the shop this morning because I couldn't get the vegetables I needed on Sunday as they were limiting the number of vegetables per customer. This morning the vegetable shelves were bare it turns out the delivery is later so I'll need to go out tomorrow, which isn't really what they want you to do. Is anyone else in the same boat?

I guess it depends where you are in the country but I got a normal Sainsbury's delivery yesterday (ordered on Sunday night, arrived Monday morning) and almost everything was accounted for. Everything that wasn't had a suitable substitute. This included fruit veg and toilet roll.

I don't even think it's panic buyers anymore tbh. I think it's just normal increases in demand. Kids that would have school dinners are being fed at home. People who'd eat in the cafeteria are eating at home. Families who'd go to restaurants are eating at home.

I think in a week or so supply will start to catch up with this increased demand and things should go back to normal in the places it hasn't yet.

For the record I'm in Scotland.

I popped to my local supermarket earlier today and it was better stocked then it has been in the last few weeks, so hopefully all the idiots who have been hording have either run out of money or space.

So hopefully we are beginning to get back to normal.

I haven't tried online shopping because it appears that no-one can get a slot. My friend has suggested somewhere local that is doing deliveries so I'll try there.

Yes Waitrose was fine this morning. Had toilet rolls and washing up liquid. One in one out policy, distancing, all good.

That's good my local shop wasn't reducing numbers but there were hardly any people in there. If I could do a proper food shop for the week I won't have to go out.

I was in Tesco this morning - all stocked and not many people. Loads of veg and fresh fruit.
The ones who were there kept away from each other. Think people have enough stuff at home now.
