Children's shoes

Just wondering how you would tackle this.

My twins are just 2 and have been in same size shoes for months - DS since Sept. They have recently been through a growth spurt and I am sure they need new shoes. We had been going to wait for the Clark's multiples sale at the end of the month, but obviously not an option now!

Can you measure your own children's feet and order shoes online? I feel a bit iffy about leaving toddlers in wrong sized shoes for potentially months.......

Presumably you won’t need sturdy shoes for the foreseeable time, so I would be tempted to just order them pumps in the next size up.

You can buy a clarks measure online and then order from the website.

Yup, you can buy the foot measurer online.

I would advise getting the Asda first walkers, the style in a canvas velcro T-bar, they usually cost £5. They are very very good for growing feet as they are flexible, wide, breathable. Much better than most Clarks styles as they are bare foot friendly. The benefit is they are so cheap you can buy a pair in the next size up and the size after for still less than Clarks doodles and see which fits best. You don't need to do width measurement as they are wide and adjustable with Velcro. Check our Happy Little Soles Website too for great advice on measuring at home including printable foot gauges and barefoot shoe advice. Also there are barefoot shoes for children groups on Facebook that will help you with measuring.

You can print a children’s shoe size guide for a rough guide to what size they need.

I’d just buy cheap canvas shoes or soft trainers. They won’t be needing shoes that much in the next few weeks, ☹️

Shoezone have buy one get one free at the moment just brought sandals for my boys in the garden

We are sticking with wellies for now. Then will measure feet ourselves. We do this anyway with older DDs because we use happylittlesoles

randomsabreuse · 24/03/2020 10:59

Thanks for this. 4 year old is my main worry as she needs exercise (circuits in the garden not outside) to be vaguely civilised.

The clarks multiples sale was still going ahead but just online (although not checked today if that's still the case). Can buy the measuring tool and order online.

Great, really helpful! We live near moorland so our daily walk is likeky to be on roughish terrain.
