How are they going to enforce the lockdown?

Surely there aren't enough police officers to monitor the entire population. People will still ignore it, won't they?

The Met office? What’s the weather got to do with it?!

It's unenforable. Where l live small town we have no police at best off times. All the people and parents with kids having a fine old time and l expect them to carry on
I walk to work and back..key worker..but how will the police know that. So in theory l can go out three times a day. Then to the shop. How will they know if l have shopped once or twice. I won't but l can guarantee all my neighbours will if ignore it.

Either people follow the rules, or technology will be used

You can only have a free society if it works together and follows the law

Grin. Now come on Mrs Grindah. In times of trouble we have a cup of tea and talk about the weather. It's 'all to the good'

Lightheartedly, the advisors have probably taken one look at the overweight, pasty British population and reasoned that most of them will do just about anything to avoid exercising once a day, let alone twice.

They can’t enforce it strictly but I expect there will be police patrols in urban areas who will notice if they see people out more than twice a day (shopping and exercise) and slap a fine on them.

It is at least clear and unambiguous. No travelling, no socialising, no gathering. I think a lot of the people who clogged up parks and the like at the weekend weren’t being deliberately disobedient: only a couple of days before the NT had announced they were opening grounds and parks free of charge, which is very confusing and hardly shouts “stay at home.”
