Well I think the outside in China was about 23 days.

INeedNewShoes · 23/03/2020 19:56

23 days! I've been thinking that 14 would be sufficient.

Wannabangbang · 23/03/2020 19:59

SabrinaTheTeenageBitch · 23/03/2020 20:03

I thought on average symptoms showed after 5 days??

LaurieFairyCake · 23/03/2020 20:12

On the WHO website they said 17 days, with the average for people to show symptoms as 5

I checked it earlier today

www.contagionlive.com/news/coronavirus-incubation-period-is-about-5-days-study-estimates

This link gives the results of a small study that found that 97.5% of people showed symptoms before 12 days had passed.

In one town in north Italy (I think Vo), they tested all 3,000 people for CV. they found 66 asymptomatic carriers, and 6 were still infectious when tested again 14 days later. so you might not get ill, but you could still spread the virus to others.
(these figures come from a story in the guardian, hope I've remembered them right).
