Child of key workers at school thank you

My child is currently attending school as both key workers. We have managed to arrange it so this week will be the only week. I want to say thank you to the school teachers that have looked after my child this week, I'm not sure how or if they would want to receive anything. I was think flowers, Easter eggs or something along those lines. If you are a teacher in school at the moment looking after key worker children would you be worried about receiving a gift due to contamination etc? We would just really like to say thank you Flowers

That’s me. Send them an email or card - they’ll be over the moon. Even better get your child to send an email or card. To be honest the bar of galaxy and the thank you email from a teenager for setting work I got today made me cry!! 😊

That's me too! I wouldn't be worried about contamination but equally really wouldn't expect gifts. Just to hear that we're appreciated is really nice ☺

No gift needed - but we really appreciate your kind words x

Nando’s delivered a load of Food to the staff at school today - in part to say thanks, and also because they were closing. That went down very well! But a card, some soap, hand cream and a toilet roll would probably be an appropriate gift in this climate given their scarcity!

Definitely send in an email. It will be circulated to all staff. We had some lovely ones in last week and it really gives you a lift

I work in a school and was in today. Lots of "thank you" "no, thank you" "no, thank you" going on today. Apart from the odd arsehole parent, it was a surreal but lovely day at school.

One parent brought in a big box of doughnuts which were devoured and very much appreciated! So often so many of the staff are 'being good' but that flew out the window today. Too many cancelled holidays and weddings and fear for most to give a shit.

Honestly the best gift is a card or email with some lovely words.

Agree, an email is a great thank you. I have cards, letters and emails from parents over the years saved in a box because they are so heartfelt. And they last a long time and can be looked at again and again.

Me too, I’m a single parent and NHS midwife so my DD is going into school. I took a bag into school this morning with tea and coffee and biscuits and chocolates for the teachers and thanked them. There’s so much support out there for frontline NHS workers but without the teachers caring for my child I couldn’t do my job, I’m so grateful

No gift needed, on second thought maybe a loo roll or loaf if bread? 😂😋😅

In all seriousness an email to the head would go down well, especially since ours is currently self isolating for 12 weeks.
