Anyone with asthma had suspected coronavirus?

If so, I just wondered how it presented itself? I have very very sporadic asthma - I hadn't used my blue inhaler for a good 3 or 4 years...until yesterday, when I felt wheezy, and I've been feeling the same all day today. I had a slight sore throat Fri-Sun. No "persistent cough", just an asthma cough now and then. I don't think it's coronavirus, it just seems a strange coincidence... though it's done me a favour in making me realise I do still have asthma, after so long I was beginning to think I could forget all about it!

Just come across this. I’m also wondering if anyone with asthma has had the virus and how they fared.

In the beginning I was super paranoid (having quite poorly controlled asthma) but I am a bit more relaxed Now, although still sticking to the rules. My kids are at school and nursery and I’m back in the office. We go to shops and parks etc.

I wonder if I should be going back to being more cautious.

My sister with asthma had coronavirus - she was sure it was a cold, until her DH (no asthma, but older and overweight) got it from her and ended up in hospital where he tested positive.

I have an asthmatic DS and all the evidence I'd seen said that it was not as big a risk factor as expected?

I think it can be variable from people I know with asthma who've had it.

Some seem to fare the same as the majority of people with mild but strong symptoms and were ok after 3-4 weeks.

Another I know is still very fatigued and breathless.

There's a slightly higher risk I believe but not as much as diabetes etc and depends on if you're taking the right meds and well controlled but also other risk factors.

A few things I read indicate that a couple of the types of inhalers may actually be protective.

The problem is that the virus isn't just a lung thing; people end up in hospital because it attacks other organs and causes a lot of inflammation. So it's more about how your body reacts, which may be impossible to know.

I am similarly apprehensive as was wfh with moderate asthma for so long and am now back at school with no protection with Sen pupils.
