Anyone else facing lockdown with a toddler and no garden?

We have a shared, keyholder only, garden on our street and loads of parks nearby so it's never bothered us before but now I feel sad and guilty about it.

All the social media posts of people in their lovely sunny gardens telling me to stay home are making me feel so crap. It's such a privilege to have that.

We're staying home and will continue to do it anyway of course, and I'm so grateful to all the key workers and I'm aware people are dying.

And yet I still feel sad. Any advice or anybody in the same position?

We've been going to a nearby recreational ground (patch of grass, there's nothing in it and it's big enough that you're never within 10m of another person). If we go on lockdown we both might go insane.

My DS is like a dog and needs at least one big walk a day or he starts getting destructive. It's really made me revaluate my living situation, I think I'm going to spend this time where I'm not going out to save as much as possible and try to move in the new year to somewhere with a garden. They really are a luxury.

We are in the same position. We don't have a car and walking to the park takes us through the main town centre and some very narrow roads that would make social distancing quite difficult.

Adding salt to the wound is being surround by wealthy people's unused gardens because they have all (I'm assuming) gone to their second homes in the country side. This includes my FiL's flat which, no, he has not offered to us.

I am grateful for what I have and to all the key workers - it just stings a bit.

We are trying to go for appropriately socially distant walks whilst we still can. Good luck and hope you stay well Flowers Flowers

We are also in the same position - I have always felt guilty about not being able to provide DS (7) and DD (3) with a garden, but with the lockdown announced tonight I’m so sad for them and worried about their physical and mental health. My DS in particular is like a puppy and needs to go out at least twice a day, so not sure how we’re going to cope with only going out once a day! DC friends and cousins all have gardens, so seeing images of them playing outside just compounds everything.
