When/if we lockdown can we go in our gardens/courtyards?

Yes.

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2020 00:42

Yes. Just no leaning on your fence chatting to your neighbours at close quarters.

MissyJane2 · 23/03/2020 01:33

Well I live in a block of flat's on a housing estate so I have not got a garden.
Though I am on the ground floor and we do have communal grounds and there is a playing field next door to us. The grounds lead out to it.

Well I am going to go there anyway if we get locked down and I am going out.
I don't care if they put me in prison.
I can't stay at home for 3 months never going out.
2 weeks maybe but 3 months no.
I would rather go to prison.

StinkyWizzleteets · 23/03/2020 01:36

You do realise if you go to prison missyjane that you’re not getting out for longer than an hour a day and if they’re on covid lockdown possibly even less.

MissyJane2 · 23/03/2020 01:47

Well if they put me in prison I will be a political prisoner.
Since when is it a crime to go out for a walk by myself?

The government are turning this country into a police state.
And I think it's nuts of them to close all of the shops and restaurants like that.

Yes Coronavirus is a serious illness.

But what about the Swine Flue?
They did not behave like this then.

Even if I was islotated at home I am in a block on a large housing estate and we share the communal hall grounds and block.
And the neighbors constantly throw their rubbish and litter in the grounds and leave their bin bags outside the bin store.

And because I am on the ground floor and we have had mice from this. I am constanty having to pick up this litter myself and put it and their bin bags in the binstore myself because they won't do it.

I have complained to my Housing Assosiation about this for 2 years and 2 weeks ago. And they have done nothing and they still won't do anything about it.
They don't care it seems.

So can you wonder why I don't want to stay locked in there for 3 months?

Couchbettato · 23/03/2020 02:03

Missy what you're saying is ridiculous on so many levels.

Also it's a crime to knowingly put others at risk of disease and perpetuate illness. Seen as you know we're in a pandemic, you'd be putting others at risk for your own selfish gain.

Suck it up buttercup.

TeaAndDarkToast · 23/03/2020 02:20

Think of the petrol saved

RainbowMum11 · 23/03/2020 02:26

Our local authority has sent out guidelines for disposing of personal waste etc - double bagging, keeping it 72 hours before putting that bag out for collection.
We owe it to everyone around us and especially our vulnerable neighbours to do as much as we possibly can to stop the spread of this virus.

CatAndHisKit · 23/03/2020 02:29

there is no risk in going for a walk if you are 2m from anyone (or more obvoiusly, which OP is suggesting) - they said that clearly after/during today's announcements.
The problem is with those who don't observe 2m distance (majority atm) - - it's only because of that the lockdown will be neccessary. You will be allowed a short walk within a few hundred yards of your house even in total lockdown, just don't stand close to anyone.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 23/03/2020 02:29

Don’t be a twat, don’t be like Missy

Nat6999 · 23/03/2020 02:44

Even in spain that is under lockdown you are allowed out to walk dogs or go to the shops & you are allowed to use your gardens. To go shopping 1 person per household is allowed out, you have to have ID & if stopped have to produce your receipt for your shopping. I normally live in a flat & the only communal area is where we hang our washing & the bins, but am staying at my mum's with ds so we can pool our resources & look after each other, we have been here since before all this started as I am chronically ill & needed more help than ds could manage.

PyongyangKipperbang · 23/03/2020 02:44

No one knows.

We know the rules other countries have put in place, but we dont know what our government will say.

So in theory yes, but potentially no. Wait and see is the only accurate answer at this stage.

If we go into lock down and only one member of household can leave for shopping, what dother I do with 7yr old Dd as a single parent?

Farahilda · 23/03/2020 09:00

"Since when is it a crime to go out for a walk by myself?"

Probably from about Thursday, though it's likely to start with a fine rather than custodial sentences.

I'd rather be at home than in a jail when it's under COVID restrictions

MoggyP · 23/03/2020 09:02

"If we go into lock down and only one member of household can leave for shopping, what dother I do with 7yr old Dd as a single parent?"

Call one of the many community volunteer groups to do your shopping for you

lowlandLucky · 23/03/2020 09:16

Missy if nobody else is in the Garden, Take a chair and a book and go outside. If the football field is empty go for a walk.
