I would say that going for a walk is fine - but if you Pass a walker , you really
Need to Give yourself extra space have a scarf at the ready in case they sneeze.

Careful of styles/gates and anything that needs touching

No, a walk in the middle of nowhere is fine. It's just about exercising common sense.

We live on a farm and my 80 yo DF is walking the dog every day - but he can guarantee he won’t meet anyone, so that’s obviously fine! If you can get to the middle of nowhere without seeing other people then that should be ok too, but if other people will be there, or you/they have to fill up with petrol for eg, then maybe better not.

Just use common sense, try to avoid touching things people will touch. Me and DH have still been going cycling in places not commonly used, so we can still get some fresh air, and we are very unlikely to get close to anyone ot touch anything unnecessarily.
