Can I cook for a self-isolating elderly relative?
Shortysoso · 22/03/2020 09:16
Just that really. We had a virtual dinner with him on Friday but he was more comfortable cooking his own food rather than us leaving some of what we’d cooked on his doorstep.
I’m not sure what is safe and he is 88 so we don’t want to take any risks.
The BBC website has a piece about Mothers Day which suggests there is no evidence it’s not safe to share food but I can’t find anything else and I do like to have two sources of info, even if primary source is the trustworthy BBC.
What think?

If you can provide the food in such a way it can be blasted in the oven, that would surely kill any germs?

I’ve found these sites

I think we are ok. That’s good news. Let the cooking and baking commence!

I'm not sure. But here all the takeaways are still open and serving food. Most of our restaurants have started a takeaway menu to continue trading.
