Schools opening

Well I have just read the biggest rant from someone on Facebook about the schools opening. She is nhs staff and working and I agree doing a tough job. It's not a friend ( a friend had commented on a community post which is how I saw it ) so I don't know her circumstances. Child will be in school from 8-6 during crisis ( so that school is already offering extended hours which many aren't) however she isn't happy as school not offering round the clock childcare and weekend childcare.

I appreciate that she is probably really stressed but schools can't offer this.

I feel sorry for them. They've messed up their working hours to accommodate for increased demand. Yet no visible options to how single parents can deal with their children over weekends and nights

My sister does a lot of nights now to help nhs parents.

Is her child’s father not in her life?

It’s a very difficult situation. Someone needs to look after the children of NHS workers as we NEED them to work. I guess already checked childcare workers who wanted to could volunteer and the govt could pay them.

We need a solution, but schools aren’t the answer.

Maybe for the juniors & seniors they could work something out with boarding schools?!

But littlest need to be in their/someone’s home care.
