2m away in open air ok?

I'm conflicted on this so asking for opinions (not flaming!)

I know the social distancing rules are that it's ok to get out in the fresh air as long as you stay 2metres away from anyone else.

So, hypothetically if someone went to visit their parents but only went in the garden and stayed 2 metres away is that too risky?

Ok front garden or back garden? What will you do when you need the loo? Will you have a cup of tea? Who will touch your cup, who will wash it? Who will open and shut the doors? How do you get to the garden- through the house or side gate? Think about all this and, also, is it really really worth the risk? The answer will probably be no.

Interesting question as we are planning to meet a couple of family members at the park tomorrow for a chat and stay 2 meters apart. No gates to negotiate and nobody will be going to the loo or using other people's cups etc.

Back garden
Porta loo set up in garage
Take own cups
Access through side alley, no gate

Is it worth the risk? My heart says yes, head says not sure, hence the thread

Just don't do it. Nothing bad will happen from following the rules.

You know how people think it's ok to drive at 55 in a 50 zone, and it really isn't, this is the same. The 55mph drivers think it's ok til they get a ticket or hit someone. And everyone else sees them driving at 55 and thinks it's ok to do the same. It may be absolutely fine, but the risks far outweigh the benefits
