It feels a bit against the guidelines. If you're not keeping nanny on what are you doing about pay?

Imagine your daughter is a single mum and a nanny. What would you want her employer to do? Do that.

Or - don’t. But if your nanny is any good they’ll have another job when this is all over.

Yes. We are. As long as we have jobs, we’ll keep paying. If that changes we’ll have to think about it then, but I feel we’re in a position of responsibility as she relies on the income. If you’re self employed or made redundant yourself I think the answer might be different.

@abracad very concerned about no visitors in the house meaning no babysitters nannies etc? Need to keep my family safe, cannot see two of my immediate family as they're high risk :( that's my utmost concern and wondered if others have decided having an external childcare provider in their home is safe.

In terms of financially, I've lost my part time job and have really been worrying about the future of my 'day' job so although I don't want anyone to financially suffer, my family has to come first. We have barely been affording childcare as it is (nanny share is same as nursery where I am).

We only have nanny 2 days a week as I chose not to go back to work full time (child is now a toddler).
