Should the cleaner not be too?
Only she is self employed. So
Relies on working. ? And I wonder if she should not be going from house to house.

She shouldn’t be working but you should be paying her if you can.

KenDodd · 20/03/2020 20:56

Is this your cleaner you're talking about?
If so, you could give her the time off.
But please, please if you can afford to continue to pay her just the same. Assuming you still have the same income yourself. Continuing to pay her goes a little way towards reducing the economy impact of this disastrous situation.

namemypuppyplz · 20/03/2020 21:00

I stopped my cleaner from coming but we're still paying he mr

HildaSnibbs · 20/03/2020 21:12

We've cancelled our cleaner's visits but are still paying her. While we're getting paid so should she.

Maverick66 · 20/03/2020 21:13

My daughter has been told to stay off work until end of April.
My son hasn't been told to stay off and continues to work every day. My husband is self employed and we are social distancing but my question is
How do we do this if our son continues to be out every day at work 🤷‍♀️
Surely he is putting us all at risk. He is in an office environment taking all precautions recommended by government .

Maverick66 · 20/03/2020 21:15

Sorry that looks like I'm hijacking your thread but it is same sort of scenario ie we are all social distancing but son isn't just like your cleaner isn't distancing.

It's difficult could you even offer her half pay and not have her cleaning?

Wingedharpy · 20/03/2020 21:18

It's about minimising risk @Maverick66.
Could DS not work from home if it's an office type job?
If not, then it's no different than living with an NHS worker (probably safer for you) or any other essential worker.
Wash hands etc the minute he comes home.

Wingedharpy · 20/03/2020 21:20

I'd cancel the cleaner OP.
Payment or not depends on your personal circumstances.

Maverick66 · 20/03/2020 21:21

Thanks Winged .
No he can't work from home there are aspects to his job which involves dealing with deliveries (new strategies in place for dealing with deliveries).
So yes you are right make sure he washes hands etc .

feelinguseless101 · 20/03/2020 21:25

We're paying ours but she's not currently coming.
