I've just walked through the park

I've been to the supermarket to get food and the quickest way home is through the park, plus it's easy to keep your distance from other people.

Unbelievable. Parents with children playing on the park. Elderly people walking along nattering with friends. Dog walkers congregating all together in the field. A group of about 15 young men playing football together.

People really don't give a fuck, do they?

No they don't and it means the govt will enforce a much tougher lockdown.

We popped out with the dog earlier this morning and I let my two kids play in the park. There was no one around. I saw some over 70’s waiting at the bus stop. Which one is worse?

I get that people with dogs will have to take them out but there was a group of them altogether. Same with the children on the park with the adults. If it was empty or people were keeping their distance then fair enough, but it was groups all congregating together.

I don't know why people are refusing to listen. How hard is it!

I haven't been further than my garden since Monday. DH has been to the shops once and to take kids to and from school. Honestly I despair of society at the moment. What will it take for people to listen?

DD is in London, she's not been out since last Friday, one of her friends went out on a DATE on wednesday, she works in admin in the NHS

Given that they now think the virus lives on hard surfaces for days rather than hours, using a playground is off limits here.

I have taken my children to the park and playground but not stood near anyone or talked to anyone.

lux I think the danger with playgrounds is touching all the equipment. I will take mine to the park to run about, but they aren't allowed in the slides/swing bit

I've just been teased for going to a food shop but not going to the pub. I explained I wasn't isolating I was distancing and if I didn't go to a food shop I would have no food

TheDogsMother ridiculous isn't it. Going out to get food is essential, going to the pub isn't. I also walked past a local cafe on my way and it was full.

I've just collected my son from his last day at school. Our park was heaving with groups of teens, all on the equipment and playing football. I really do despair.

I really wouldn’t go to the playground. The virus can live on surfaces for quite a long time. Walking with your dc ok as long as it’s not busy.
Our council is closing playgrounds but keeping the parks open.

It is not like that here. Also went for a walk in park earlier, found people all made space of few metres in passing, I saw an older couple with mats well spaced from a personal trainer also with a mat having taken their exercises outside, and a couple of runners, but all behaving as requested (do live in a compliant kind of place perhaps!)

Queues in smaller shops, however, hmm, more crowded, did not go into one due to this.

In local co-op, man behind the till got a telling off from the lady behind me about not wearing gloves and protective gear. Thought it was a bit of a shame for him as co-op should have provided it for him.

But yes all taken seriously here in SW (small city)

Yes same here, we have a high amount of retired here though, I mean they can go for walks but I see groups (moaning that the M&S safe was closed I overheard yesterday )

Ridiculous here too! DH went to get me a prescription and the cafes are full, people standing chatting in groups in the street, kids hanging about! Honestly I despair.

Went for a walk earlier with dd at a local NT area, there were quite a few people out but mainly couples and parents with toddlers, lots of dog walkers but most were keeping distance from each other. People need to be more careful but until stricter rules are put in place there’s always going to be people who carry on as normal.

Ok I just came on to post basically the same thread; I just drove to deliver milk to a nursery mum with newborn twins. I saw the following on my journey:

• 3 cafes, full
• 1 pub, half full
• 1 park, absolutely full of kids and chatting parents
• 1 gym, open and half full
• numerous little shops, all pretty busy with no one maintaining their distance

I walked through a local park on the way to the shops. It’s near a school and pupils were leaving for the day. In the park groups of kids were playing football, chasing each other around. Seems little point closing the school if they are all going to be in contact anyway?
At the shops, it was busy, greggs queuing out the door and people leaning their arms on the counters, butchers had about 9 people inside a small space. There was no social distancing at all.

My DD isn't seeing her dad today because he would've taken her on a day trip with others, to a wildlife park. The park has: the main attraction, shop, café, indoor and outdoor play areas. Even DD thinks he's an idiot.

I went to the park yesterday- at night in the pitch black! We saw no-one

Saw one dog walker before we went in.
