Hi all, would be good to get some advice from wise mumsnetters!
My DD is due her 8 week immunisation on Monday & really unsure whether to still take her or not. No virus symptons in the household but I am isolating as much as possible anyway as have asthma & on mat leave so no real need to go anywhere!
My thoughts are:
If DD has the virus (carrier with no symptoms potentially?) then will the jabs make her ill? Also, just the increased risk of catching the infection at the doctors surgery.
Or, if I dont take her there is the risk of her catching what she is being immunised for. Also, no guarantee that the situation will be any better in afew months & she will have to have them at some point.
Doctors have said still to bring her. WWYD?

I would follow the doctor's advice. There won't be many people at the surgery.

I would take her. My DS is 7 weeks tomorrow and I’ll be taking him for his 8 week jabs later this month, on the doctor’s advice.

Take her. If everyone stops getting their jabs then people will be at risk.
AFAIK all surgeries are strictly vetting everyone by telephone, giving advice by phone if possible and so on. At mine they are sending all prescriptions straight to the pharmacy for you, so as to minimise the number of people coming in.

Check with the clinic, and expect to take her.

Whooping cough is a real hazard; services for respiratory symptoms are hopelessly overloaded. Even though these jabs are often called routine, they are really important and should still be done.

Yes, these are so important. Unless advised otherwise by the doctors you should have them.

Vaccinations are as important now as ever, if not even more important!

Take her. Our local surgeries have cancelled all appointments except for things like jabs and are not letting people in with out asking questions and taking temperatures

DS is having his this afternoon. I phoned the surgery yesterday to ask if it was still going ahead and they said that childhood vaccinations remain a priority- and that they will have us in a separate waiting room to other patients to keep everyone safe.

I think it’s worth calling to check though. See what they say.

My surgery phoned and asked if I would rebook my dd’s preschool imms when things have calmed down a bit.

Very small rural surgery with half the staff in quarantine and a disproportionately elderly patient cohort.
