Meeting parents outside

Would you meet parents (70ish) outside in a public park (keeping a safe distance - no hugging etc)? It’s obviously safer than meeting at home or in a pub/restaurant but not sure it’s safe enough.

Maybe yes. I saw my friend in the garden the other day, 1-2 meters apart

I was wondering about this, meeting for dog walks, plenty of outside parks (National trust, rhs places, zoos) are still open and we are encouraged to exercise.

I just don’t know what’s best

Yeah we were thinking garden first but then thought it might be nice for them to get out as they have been home all week

I am speaking to my parents at their front door. I stand in the front garden they stand 2m + away.

Better than meeting in a park as they don’t have to travel anywhere. The risk of meeting in the park is a) the journey to and from and b) other people may come near them, how do they avoid that.

I’ve just drove along my local high st and all the cafes are open with pavement tables busy, well spaced out, big Q at Boots.

Also outdoors is easier to keep the 2m distance and remember you do need to have close contact and cough/sneezing, try not to overly panic, MN is the only place I’ve seen irrational behaviour.
