Like many others. Getting incredibly anxious.

My work (huge household name with a multi billion turnover) informed us this afternoon we would only be paid in the event of a lockdown. In the meantime, I have several colleagues self isolating who will get statutory sick pay.

With many of my workforce being working parents, and with the schools closing tomorrow, we have also been informed should we need time of due to parental responsibility we will receive no pay-not even eligible for statutory as it's our choice effectively to take care of the dc's.

We all can work from home, however work have only ordered enough secure laptops for possibly one out of every seven people to do so.

There is zero sanitizers at work, and it appears the cleaners aren't coming in anymore.

I have flushed hot and cold today, and mentioned to my boss I have a sore throat. I was told this wasn't a symptom and I was fine. Came home and Dp has similar symptoms. More than likely a cold, but works reaction was worrying, and I quote ''Well if you don't have a high temperature you haven't got it.''

Dreading going in tomorrow. The atmosphere is hideous.

Terrible. Basically we will only get ssp in the event of a lockdown if we are off for sickness oe childcare issues we aren't being paid at all

Biggish fintech/pensions company. Multiple sites across the world.

Everyone who can work from home should. They're digging out mothballed laptops and seeing if they can press them into service.

Everyone gets paid if they have to self isolate (including those on probation)

They want us to work as normally as possible - but if you have children and its tricky- you can work outside core hours.

Can take IT equipment home if you need it (eg screens /docking stations)

Pay review is postponed for 6 months - but no plans for redundancies. Low paid staff got a one off flat increase.

Quite impressed with them really.

I'm the same as @timeforawine work for a large insurance broker, couldn't be a better company to work for - full pay if self isolating or have to be off with children, ordered everyone to work from home and those that can't have all be ordered laptops. Was told today I don't have to work my full hours when kids are about just do what I can. Helpline direct to the biggest boss he will personally pick up the call, help line for other queries, helpline for clients.

The last communication from head office basically said your family come first - I'm extremely lucky

Some of your employers seem amazing! Others definitely have my sympathy :(

One of my colleagues was crying in the loo today, she said if she can get a doctors note for stress, at least she will get something each week in terms of SSP, as she has no one for childcare and can't take the financial hit of zero pay. Of course if she had a laptop, she could full-fill her role! :(

We will have full pay if we need to isolate for 2 weeks, also have agreed to 2 weeks emergency leave for parents (schools closing). I have holidays already at Easter so I am managing to make it last until 22nd April, although I will be working weekends to enable this. They are currently trying to figure out the home working so if the schools don't reopen I'll be doing that hopefully

My company is handling this magnificently. We are a large multinational, so exactly what is being done is varying by country, but the below of true for our Europe and US sites. Other locations at different stages are being manage according to what is needed. I feel so lucky to know that I can WFH, in full wage during this.

My DH has lost his job due to the situation, so my companies support is invaluable. Luckily I was the main breadwinner.

Weeks ago measures were put in place to ensure plenty of sanitiser/tissue etc was in place. People who were happier to work from home were supported, to increase distance between people in the office. All travel between office was banned a while ago (with plane travel having been banned quite early).

They sent (almost) everyone home early last week. Almost all of us can work from home.

They have told every not to worry if a door bell rings or a child interrupts a call. There are even messages on our phone lines warning customers there will be more background noise than usual!

If you have a home situation which is not conductive, such as very young children/babies etc they are working with people to change hours or putting people on paid admin leave. Those who need equipment have been given it.

Those who cannot work from home but don't need to be present in the buildings are being put on paid admin leave (full pay, including the average of the last six months commission and bonuses), until they company can work on a way to make it possible for them to work from home.

Those who cannot work from home but are not needed to be present physically (infrastructure that requires someone there 24/7), have had their shifts arranged to they have as little contact with others as possible.

We have all been told that whatever the local government or health authority say we need we will be supported with, and anyone in at risk groups who has to isolate for 12 weeks will be supported to allow them to work from home.

We are also taking lots of measures to help our customers out right now as most of our base is SMEs who are really struggling.

I really hope you'll all be ok, some companies are being so stupid. Appreciate I'm very fortunate where i work, we also have hand sanitizer everywhere and have also been told our health and families come first.

I work for LA in Children's residential care, still get paid if need to self isolate for 14days otherwise carry one and if our setting is closed we will be deployed to others in the authority to cover staff shortages...I'm in the vulnerable group 😷

I think this will be a pivotal time for employers and people will not forget how they've been treated.

DH has been treated well -has been working from home for the past two weeks. His company (global) was very much ahead of the curve and very flexible. However, today he fielded a call about redundancies. I am certain people will lose their jobs.

Me not so much. I'm waiting to see how I'm treated by my main client/place of work and that will inform what I do next. I've always been very loyal, flexible and committed. Let's see if that is receiprocated.

Work have been really good. They sent out a global directive for everyone to work from home. They held a senior management briefing which was live streamed on line for us. Told us that we should bear with colleagues if we can hear children, dogs or the washing machine. However, I know that they are assessing how many to cut if it goes on too long.

My employer is carrying on for the time being - among other things we supply protective clothing, gloves and masks and trade in those has been brisk to say the least. We are not not getting many deliveries coming into the warehouse now, they either aren't getting out of Europe or our suppliers are out of stock so I don't know how long we will be still open. I suspect they might reduce my hours by this time next week. I've been told they are taking it a day at a time.

Bloody brilliant, I work from home most of the time anyway, so now it is 100%. Husband doesn't work so I have full time childcare.

My employer has been great at setting up people to work from home.

They're not paying if we can't work due to childcare issues.

Food manufacturing and about 300 of us in for the long haul.
No information other than daily covid 19 updates and let us know where you've been reminders.
We'd like to know how long we have work, what about workers with health conditions, people with children at home.
We must all wash our hands a million times a day but 300 across two shifts is quite a gathering!
Definitely feel like a number rather than a person.

I’m not working atm but dh’s employer (big company) have allowed almost everyone to WFH until further notice, and only those who need to be in the office for technical reasons have to be in. Dh and everyone else on full pay. The technology is good for WFH.

We all recieved instructions today on how to set up our private PCs (those who don't have an "official" one) to work from home.

DH works from home anyway - so no change there.

I've been working from home since July 2019. I'm now going to split my 24 hours per week over 6 days rather than 3. My DH is working from home now too. It was not pleasant both being on zoom calls at the same time today. Our broadband is struggling.

Our children are almost 10 and 13 so self sufficient to a certain point. We'll need to feed, peace-keep and manage screen time but if I start early and DH works a bit later (he's got full time hours) there's only a short window where the kids will be unsupervised.

We'll manage and plan to keep paying the childcare provider (after school club for almost 10 year old) to ensure they have some income coming in.

DP works for a large insurance company and they are actually being brilliant human beings.

If you can work from home then you must, if you don't get much done due to childcare - not a problem
Can't work from home but need to isolate - not a problem
Can't work from home and no childcare - not a problem.

Their motto is Family First right now. Everyone will be paid as normal, keep safe and do what you can

This morning I told DH I couldn’t get out of bed because I was paralysed with fear. I did though, to profit from the DC being at school. A few hours later we got an email from our CEO. Basically he said “do the hours you can, even if - for now - it’s none - but don’t work all night to make you for looking after your children all day, be sensible, we will pay you normally anyway.”. I cried with relief.

This is actually making me quite sad. I work for a family run hotel. We are treated like shite at the best of time’s in hospitality. We’ve no choice but to work & have been told so. We can’t work from gone, we’ve no hand sanitiser or wipes & won’t get paid. I just hope we don’t get laid off like some of the other hotels etc

Very well so far, full pay no matter if you're ill, self isolating, sick family member, 12 weeks isolation for the vulnerable etc.

Already flexible but thousands of laptops built for those that didn't have them, networks upgraded, all working well so far for WFH. Minimal office presence in place but very spaced out with a lot of deep cleaning.

It's a business that is currently doing very well in the current situation so it would be disappointing if they weren't being good to staff

NHS. Everyone working from home with secure network where required. Obviously paid when working and full sick pay if not working. I appreciate what a fortunate position this is and sympathise with anyone who can’t do this 😥

I work for a small service based company, we have had to stop the service we provide this week. I can work from home but won’t have any work to do from next week. The company will have no income until normality resumes. I have no idea what will happen to my job, if I will keep it or if I will get paid again. On the positive side, I will be able to look after DC when schools close tomorrow.
