What do you do if you’re made to go into work even if you’re “vulnerable”?

I fit two of the categories for those who have been told to socially distance themselves for 12 weeks but I’m pretty confident that my managers will tell me I’ve got to come to work.

I have spoke to Occupational Health who have said they are coming up with their own risk assessments to decide if those who have been listed as being vulnerable, actually are, and if not then the 12 week rule won’t be applied.

Not sure why OH think they have the rights, the knowledge and the power to overrule what the CDC and PHE have said, but it appears they do.

I’m worried they’re going to tell me that I have to work and there won’t be anything I can do about it Sad

You can still go to work if socially distancing. The guidance for who is classed as vulnerable is vague so it may work in your favour if OH do a risk assessment. Although it will all depend on what your job is.

I don't think anyone has been told to isolate for 12 weeks? Just warned that it is likely some people may be asked to in the near future...

Is your job one you can do from home? I have a letter from my consultant which is strongly worded that I need to be socially distant if not isolated
They've advised me basically not to go out except my garden for fresh air and food in extreme circumstances

Guidance is likely to be you don't care for positive or suspected pts. You'll probably get redeployed to another area

Guidance is likely to be you don't care for positive or suspected pts.

That may be so but that won’t protect me from all the other potentially infected people who are walking around the hospital: colleagues, doctors, parents, visitors, porters, cleaners etc etc. The patients aren’t the only ones who pose a risk.
