They say that most people get infected by the little droplets in the air spread by people coughing. But they also say that people showing no symptoms can spread the infection, so presumbly that's from them touching their mouth or nose or eyes and then contaminating surfaces with their hands, without coughing at all.
We know that the virus can remain on surfaces for up to 72 hours...so while it's a nice idea to let older people get to supermarkets early, wouldn't it be better to facilitate more deliveries to them? If one infected person's put their grubby hands all over the tins of beans - not to mention the trolley or basket handles and touchscreen tills - it's game over for anyone who touches them next.
Also I've seen people on here scoff at the idea it's "alright to walk the dog" - but why on earth isn't it? Unless your front door opens onto a busy street and you can't avoid coughing in people's faces or getting coughed on - you'll probably be in a wide open space and not touching anything other than poo bags!
AIBU or is the guidance so unclear that people have no idea what actually puts everyone at risk and what doesn't?
