Will my partner be allowed in the delivery room?

I'm 7 months pregnant - due in May. I have a consultant appointment on Monday. Ive been strictly advised that only I can attend. Absolutely no partners or children are allowed to go in with anyone. Totally understandable and I'm glad to see they're taking precautions.

But what happens when I have my c section in May does anyone know? Will my husband be allowed in the delivery room?

I will ask on Monday but just wanted to see if anyone had heard anything or knew what changes would be brought into place?

I think they are trying to get people home asap.

You aren’t putting your family first if you give birth unsupervised. That is putting the health of your unborn child at risk because you don’t want to follow a measure taken by the hospital to reduce the spread of a killer virus.

I’m sorry about your mental health concerns. But saving lives is far more important.

So my life is not important? Nice to know

kittykat7210 · 24/03/2020 19:18

The fact you think that anxiety can’t kill someone shows how ignorant you are towards mental health issues. Do you really think if I felt I had another choice I would opt for a home birth???

Yes we have all had to adapt and change. Some NHS staff are not seeing their kids or family for weeks sonwe have to all follow the safety rules no matter how unfair.

@kittykat7210

Eyeroll.

Point me to where I said your life didn’t matter.

Life is strange right now and people have to make scarifies. I’m sure vulnerable people in hospitals would much rather have anxiety than have cornavirus because asymptomatic groups of people were allowed into the hospital.

Don’t argue with me. Argue with the doctors and midwives.

My husband would likely be among those in the hospital if he had it, he’s immunosuppressed due to Crohns medication.
