Frontline staff -will you isolate from family

My hospital job will soon involve close contact with multiple positive patients. My family have been self isolating for 2 weeks already as DH and DS2 are in an at risk group. NHS trust have suggested frontline staff will be offered accommodation so they don't endanger those at home. Is anyone doing this yet? If I commit to it I don't foresee when / how it might come to an end. Feels a huge step but am starting to distance myself from family (no hugs / kisses) and see isolation as a possibly safer (but very painful) option. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Wow, I’ve not been offered this yet. I have no idea what I’d choose. I’m literally just coming back from mat leave so have a 10 month old at home and don’t think I could cope with not seeing for potentially months. At the same time I don’t want to put her or DH at risk. I honestly don’t know what I’d do.

What a hard decision for you. I just want to say how grateful we are to you for your service.

So far I've been just stripping off just inside front door and getting straight in the shower, antibac wiping keys, phone and car. Just changed bags so can keep that wiped down too. I work in the community so perhaps a bit different for me.

No but me and DH both work for the NHS, DH is in a high risk group. Will have our two (healthy) children at home and in some form of childcare. We are going to avoid my mum for the duration although she would normally do some childcare so it is going to be tough.

I am a lone parent with no help, I would have to leave I think. After 12 years of service.

I have started getting changed at work and leaving my stuff there.

Im self isolating at the mo, Im 80% sure I have it and I dont need to guess where from, if you catch my drift.

Some good tips newname.
I also work in the community and if I was offered somewhere else to stay I would to protect my children who would be home alone but at 22 and 16 they would manage!
Dd does have asthma and I dont want her to get it.
